Social Agents Advisory Council
Data updated as of 17/10/2024
The Social Agents Advisory Council (CAAS) is a consultative body of the Internal Scientific Committee (Research Committee) whose purpose is to make proposals related to the research carried out at the IIS-FJD, in order to steer it towards the interests of society.
The creation of the CAAS responds to the growing need to incorporate key non-scientific actors in research centers to participate in the research carried out there. In this way, the aim is to actively involve the non-specialised public in scientific research, together with scientists and professionals, both in the prioritisation and design of projects, as well as in the review of their strategy, so as to facilitate the translation and impact on the National Health System and Society.
The activity of the CAAS will allow the IIS-FJD to receive guidance regarding the projection of research activity towards society, with the aim of making it as effective as possible and playing a role both in the scientific process and in the destination, benefit or use of the research.
Furthermore, the creation of this council is in line with the requirements of the ISCIII's IIS Accreditation Evaluation Guide and the growing trend of EU support for citizen science in an increasing number of research areas.
Its composition in 2023 is as follows:
- Juan Francisco Corona Ramón: Member of the Board of Trustees of the FJD (company).
