Medical and Surgical Innovation Associated Group

The application of technology on the study of advanced life support in severe multi-organ pathologies and the development of new mechanical ventilation techniques. Analysis of acute bleeding through the application of thromboelastography in order to reduce bleeding and save blood product transfusion. Incorporation of ultrasound for patients in the intraoperative period, and also in the immediate postoperative period, assessing hemodynamic imbalances and obtaining an immediate diagnosis of the pathology, allowing for the application of the necessary therapeutic measures with the least possible delay.

All the scientific activity of the Medical and Surgical Innovation group is directly oriented towards benefitting the patient and society.

Collaborations

The Medical and Surgical Innovation group collaborates in the research of the New Therapies Research group with the incorporation of computerised analysis in the treatment of facial deformities, and working towards the diagnosis and treatment of dysphagia, prognostic tools for chronic hepatitis and acute lung injury and renal injury present in sepsis.
